Two views from across the Gunnison River - our property doesn't go all the way to the cliff - that is owned by the local irrigation company - but they have no access to it. In the background are the red sandstone cliffs of Colorado National Monument.
Click on the photos to zoom in, and you can see our porta-potty (blue), the foundation & floor framing, and the pile of dirt our excavator is currently mixing and wetting to backfill the foundation & garage.

All the floor trusses are finally installed and braced, including the "ladder trusses" on the parallel walls. Ended up using full size LVL's for rim joists (1-3/4" x 16"), since LVL rimboard (1-1/8") would have taken another 3 weeks to arrive. And I'm determined to use no OSB (ticky-tacky) on this house.

A bit of adjusting, planing high spots, etc. and then we're ready to sheath the subfloor, and have a platform to work on. Busy planning the walls, making sure on rough openings for windows & doors, etc. Once we get a subfloor on, minimizing the time until a roof appears is a good idea. Even in the desert, with our luck, we'll get a few "gully washing" rains in that time.

Also hoping to get backfilled and a garage slab poured in the next few weeks.
